Should You Always Call Your Insurance Company If You’ve Had An Accident?

February 22nd, 2010 by Lloyd Pro Group

You are pulling out of your parking spot at Kroger when the person behind you had the same bright idea as you at the same time. Before you know it you hear a “CRUNCH” as your car shakes upon impact. Upon closer examination,  there is very little damage to both cars and since no one seems to be hurt, it may be tempting to each pay for your own repairs and not get the police or insurance companies involved. After all, who wants their car insurance rates to go up… right?

Why This Is Dangerous Reasoning

What if things are not as they seem at first?

For example, what if the owner of the car wakes up in the morning with their neck and head hurting. Whether they are really suffering or faking whiplash, it really doesn’t matter does it? In the end your Georgia insurance company will receive a phone call regarding the accident and will not have a clue about it, because you chose not to call and report it. Not reporting an accident can cause you much grief later on.

How can your Atlanta insurance company investigate the accident and protect you if you are innocent, if you are withholding information from them. In fact, it almost looks like you are hiding the information from them. This is not a good position to be in with the authorities or your insurance company.

It is always a good idea to contact the police and your insurance agency the moment you have an accident. You still have the option to file a claim or to pay it out of pocket.  However, in the case that the accident is worse than you originally anticipated you will be covered. By the way, don’t necessarily assume that your rates will go up with a little fender bender. Why do we say that? Well when you have your car insurance with Lloyd Pro Group and Nationwide you may actually qualify for something called “accident forgiveness”.  If you would like to learn more about “accident forgiveness” then please feel free to either call, click or come by.

Why You Should Never Say You Are Sorry

February 15th, 2010 by Lloyd Pro Group

“I’m Sorry!”

Perhaps you have been conditioned to say “I’m sorry” every time there  is a problem or a situation between friends, fellow workers  and family.  While saying “sorry” can go along ways in keeping good relations with people,  saying “I’m sorry” after a car accident can be taken as an admission of guilt.

The thing is that in most car accidents all of the facts are not available immediately. So if you say, “it was my fault” or “it’s not your fault” you are actually Read the rest of this entry »

The 8 Letter Word That Could Delay Payment On Your Car Insurance Claim

February 12th, 2010 by Lloyd Pro Group

If there was one word that probably raised more red flags on car accident claims it would have to be…  “Whiplash”

If you have watched enough back and white movies with court room dramas then you know about the proverbial fraudulent whiplash claims” made by people trying to get rich off the insurance companies. Well apparently the insurance companies watch a lot of old black and white movies too, because they sit up and take notice when ever someone says the word “whiplash”. In fact, because of the negative connotation  due to fraudulent and exaggerated claims, can you really blame them?

So what should you do if you have been in a wreck and think you have whiplash? Read the rest of this entry »
