Starting Aug 1, Georgia will launch a 30 day speeding ticket frenzy. The state estimates that 9 million dollars will be generated in Atlanta speeding tickets. 1 million will go to pay state troopers’ overtime. The rest to help with dwindling budgets. There will be 50 Georgia State Troopers on duty at all times patrolling the 7 main intersections and highways. They are the following: 

I-20 east and west
I-75 north and south
I-85 north and south
I-675 north and south
GA-985 north and south
GA-316 east and west
GA-400 north and south 

5 mph above the limit can justify a ticket and every state trooper is supposed to pull a car over and write a ticket every 10 to 20 minutes. They have issued 30 brand new unmarked Dodge Charger Police cruisers and are bringing in all of their part timers on full time. If you work in the Atlanta area, you will probably take one of these highways. It’s up to you how fast you are going when they clock you. 

WSB and WXIA & CBS confirmed all of this. So be safe and don’t forget speeding tickets are on you. Speeding tickets can also affect your Car Insurance in Atlanta.

Do you remember all of your teachers along your road of Education? I had my favorites along the way… I remember smidgeons of manyof my teachers. I loved Ms. Rose and didn’t love Ms. Eskimani (who paddled us- not ME, of course, just some OTHER students in the class!  But that was WAY back when… Matilda had her least favorite too- Remember Mrs. Trunchbold and the Chokey?

Within Middle and High School, there were a few that did shape my way, in good times and in bad.  I had some really, really great teachers that did make an impact on my education, and I am thankful. The Heinemans (Mr. and Mrs. who showed us amazing pictures of their world travels), Ms. Fisher, Mr. O’Kane…

Carbon Monoxide and your Home Insurance

Taken from Wikipedia, Carbon Monoxide (CO) is a toxic gas, but, being colorless, odorless, tasteless, and non-irritating, it is very difficult for people to detect. It is highly toxic to humans and animals in higher quantities, although it is also produced in normal animal metabolism in low quantities, and is thought to have some normal biological functions. Carbon Monoxide Poisoning occurs after enough inhalation of too much carbon monoxide. However, poisoning can be prevented.

• Only use generators outside, far away for your home, regardless whether the windows are open.
• Do not use or bring a charcoal grill into the house or garage.
• Never use a gas stove or oven for heating the home or area. Only cooking.
• Open the fireplace flue before lighting a fire. Make sure all ashes are cool before closing.
• Make sure chimney is clear of bird or squirrel nests and leaves for adequate ventilation.
• Make sure to have all heating systems inspected every year.
• You can even install CO detectors on each floor of your home.

If you suspect Carbon Monoxide poisoning, immediately call 911 and go outside for some fresh air. Some of the symptoms include headache, dizziness, flu-like symptoms, nausea, chest pain, confusion, among others.  There are no home remedies, only emergency care.
