Many are very submissive and gentle with children. In Massachusetts a possible law to prevent discrimination against dog breeds is under review.
Some insurance companies will make exceptions if the dog enrolled and passed the American canine good citizenship program. Be a responsible owner by teaching your dog to obey. Always keep a dog on the leash when in public and make sure you have a fenced yard that will contain the animals from running out in the street.
